Dunmanway Community Garden

Overview

Dunmanway Community Garden is a public amenity and resource for the local neighbourhood and the wider community.  Overseen by the Dunmanway Family Resource centre, the focus is on inclusivity and holistically supporting a healthy community .  It is open Monday-Friday 09.30- 16.30.

The Garden has 2 x poly tunnels as well as lots of outdoor beds, a demonstration composting system, an education section for children, a sandpit, a slide, play areas for young children and quiet spaces for everyone to enjoy the sights, sounds and smells of our beautiful garden.

The garden has a new accessible area (still in development) for people of different abilities i.e.older people who may find it difficult to stoop down to an average sized planting bed and wheelchair accessible beds.

There is a building onsite with indoor community space for rainy days, courses and sharing a cuppa and cake.

Even if you have no experience of gardening, many volunteers have lots of experience and would be happy to have you learn from them. In the garden everyone is equal.
