Our Services

Family Support
Our Family Support Program is a free and confidential service for parents and those in parenting roles based in the Dunmanway Area and its environs. Family Support Workers provide one-to-one support on any parenting concerns or challenges and explore ways to address the issues. Family Support Workers can also advise on other resources available in the community. We also offer home visits, if you are unable to call into the centre, we can come to you. We also offer seasonal parenting programmes and family-based activities.
Carer and Older Person’s Support
The Carer and Older’s Person’s Support Program offers community initiatives such as Singing for the Brain and a Memory Cafe, as well as individual support for older persons and those in carer roles. You can find an updated list of our activities and groups on our Facebook page, or on our Groups and Activities Page.

Migrant Family Support
Our Migrant Support Program provides wellbeing and integration support as well as advocacy and peer support to refugees, migrants and international protection applicants in Dunmanway and the surrounding areas from Inchigeelagh to Clonakilty. We have two dedicated Migrant Family Support Workers that provide inclusive, safe and culturally sensitive one to one and family support.

Creative Community Alternatives
Creative Community Alternatives (CCA) aims to provide alternative responses to children and young people who are either on the edge of alternative care, or currently in alternative care due to complex factors that may include abuse, neglect, parental separation, attachment issues, alcohol and /or drug misuse, mental health and economic disadvantage.
Therapy Hub
DFRC works collaboratively with qualified mental health practitioners to offer low cost counselling and therapy. Currently, we have play therapy, art therapy and talk therapy available, with waitlists applicable. Through HSE referral pathways, we also have Music and Addiction Therapy.

Community Garden
The DFRC manages the Dunmanway Community Garden with a great group of volunteers. The Community Garden features two polytunnels, various beds and open spaces and has a small cabin that is available for group activities that may promote horticultural learning. The garden is located within walking distance of our centre. The Community Garden is open to new volunteers, if you are interested in volunteering, please contact us.
Meals on Wheels
Meals on Wheels provide nutritious and affordable meals to members of the community who may need extra assistance, such as older people, postnatal or those with diverse abilities. If you or your loved one requires meals, please contact our Service Manager Órla Collins.
It is with the help of a group of hard-working and dedicated volunteer drivers we are currently able to deliver over 100 meals per week. Meal deliveries take place on Mondays, Wednesdays and Thursdays, including bank holidays in the Dunmanway, Ballineen/ Enniskeane and Drimoleague areas.

We accept self referrals and professional referrals for our Support Programmes, Social Prescribing Link and Therapy Hub. We do our best to handle new referrals in a timely manner. Social Prescribing Link Worker
The Social Prescribing Link Worker helps people connect to local activities and services that improve mental, physical and emotional wellbeing. The Link Worker is able to adapt service based on user needs, and meet clients in the community or for home visits. Currently, our Link Worker is on a part time schedule and serves communities from Dunmanway to Skibbereen, so there may be a short delay in contact times.
